2011 UPDATE:

  • 30,260 stockings have been sewn and inventoried
  • Paradise Casino has now donated 25,000 decks of cards
  • Girl Scouts of America donated 8,500 boxes of cookies
  • Operation Santa has collected over 8,000 personal Christmas cards
  • Bloomington Dentists have contributed over 1200 Tooth Brushes, Tooth Paste, and floss
  • The Brad Barker Honda sponsored "Fill The Truck For The Troops" brought in 22,688 items which will fill approximately 2,500 stockings. Items collected included 3,550 granola bars, 4,700 individual packets of cocoa and individual fruit flavored packets for water, 290 ponds of hard candy, 1513 packs of gum, 30 pounds of beef jerkey, 1134 AA batteries, and numerous other items.
  • Champaign has made 1,300 stockings and over 900 cards and collected $400 dollars in cash plus lots of things donated to go in to stockings. And they are still going strong!!
  • We have heard from Operation Santa supporters in Springfield, Pana, Jacksonville, Metamora, Peoria, Champaign, Urbana, Fairbury and other communities. They are working hard to collect "Stuffers From Home".
  • Together we have collected over 100,000 items to be placed in the stockings. We continue to collect more everyday
  • Employees of The Town of Normal and Illinois State University are collecting "stuffers"
  • Deb McCallister has agreed to coordinate the collecting, stuffing, and shipping of 5,000 stockings out of Peoria.
  • Stockings, Dollars, and "Stuffers" continue to arrive on a daily basis.
  • Operation Santa has secured a building at 466 Wiley Drive in Normal (The Outlet Mall) that we will use for shipping the stockings beginning November 12th.
  • A special thank you to Rachel and the town of Chenoa for rallying the Scouts to collect over 800 items and 950 stockings. They then spent a day at Operation Santa Headquarters to help fill the stockings for our troops by rolling socks.
